JoAnn Fortenberry Mancone, age 75, of Cordova, passed away July 10, 2021. She is preceded in death by her husband, Anthony Mancone; parents Paul and Mamie Fortenberry; brothers Milton Fortenberry and Billy Fortenberry; sister, Betty Joyce Bishop and her brother-in-law, Cylde Lowe. JoAnn is survived by her children, Michael Mancone (Tracey) and Wendy Mancone Burkett (William); grandchildren, Candace Smith (Clifton), Kristin Willcutt (Jon), Kered Mancone, Taylor Mancone, Jackson Mancone and Logan Burkett; great-grandchildren, Kaylee Smith, Brielyn Smith, Gracelyn Smith and Hunter Willcutt; sisters, Barbara Motte (Doug), Bobbie Nell Preisler (Chuck) and Linda Lowe; brother, Ray Fortenberry and her very special friends Even and Kay Morrow. JoAnn was fun and loving. She had a great personality and a gift to make people laugh. She was a devoted wife and mother. She loved all of her family dearly. JoAnn shared a special relationship with her son-in-law William. She considered him a son, not just an in-law. JoAnn was a member of Sumiton Church of God where she enjoyed singing with the choir and with the Spirit Singers. JoAnn and her late husband Anthony were on a bowling team together. She also enjoyed dancing, anytime, anywhere. Services will be held at New Horizon Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation, Tuesday, July 13, 2021 from 6-8pm, chapel service will be Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at 11am. Burial will follow in New Horizon Memorial Gardens. Rev. Lane Sargent will officiate.
