Funeral service for JoAnn Coots, 74, of Falkville will be today, April 22, 2014, at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Joey Coots and Rev. David Hooks officiating. Burial will be in Falkville City Cemetery. Visitation will be today from 1 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Coots died Sunday, April 20, 2014, at her residence. She was born
July 19, 1939, in Morgan County to Joe C. Clark and Dorothy Copeland Clark. “Nana” Coots was a member of Journey Church. She enjoyed being a stay-at-home mother and grandmother. She also enjoyed decorating her home and spending time with her family. Her father preceded her in death.
Survivors include her husband, George Lewis Coots; two sons, Randy Coots (Melissa) and Joey Coots (Kim); mother, Dorothy Copeland Clark; one sister, Beverly Nelson; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Ron Bennefield, Josh Hooks, Dale McCutcheon, Frank
Parker, Stuart Whitney and Jim Wilkins.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Wayne Coots, Jim “Big Daddy” Hurtekant and Gene Wilhite.
