Joan Willingham Armistead – Obituary

Joan Willingham Armistead, of Tuscumbia, passed away on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at the age of 73. Her visitation will be Saturday, November 4, 2017 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Henry Melton officiating. She will be buried in Winston Cemetery.
Joan was a native and lifelong resident of Tuscumbia. She was a retired Cosmetology Instructor with NWSCC and a member of Phi Beta Kappa. Preceding her in death were her husband, Dudley C. Armistead; parents, Marion P. and Offie Willingham; and brothers, Dean Willingham, Hillard Willingham, and R.L. Willingham.
She is survived by her daughter, Tammy Whittle Stanfield (Terry) of Florence; son, Mark Whittle of Tuscumbia; brothers, Leon Willingham of Beeville, TX, James Willingham and Roy Willingham both of Tuscumbia; sister, Helen Gay Cole O’Steen of Florence; grandchildren, Justin Stanfield, Aryn Stanfield, Adam Kanoa, David Whittle, and Robbie Whittle; and great-grandchildren, Solomon Stanfield and Serenity Whittle.
Pallbearers will be Justin Stanfield, Adam Kanoa, David Whittle, Robbie Whittle, Mark Whittle, and Shane Mansell.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
