Joan Ruth Brown

  Joan Ruth Brown, 94, of Athens, passed away Sunday, April 26, 2026, at Athens Health and Rehab. She was born November 7, 1931, in New York to Edmund Dwight and Mary Coty Dwight.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband Donald Brown.

Survivors include one daughter, Alicia Rouleau; three sons, Raymond Brown (Claire), Douglas Brown (Darby), and Steven D. Brown (Alison); seven grandchildren, Zachary, Addison, Angie, James, Christopher, Matthew, Allison; and several great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Brown worked as a benefits officer at Sunmount Developmental Center for 35 years. She loved her family and she enjoyed gardening.
