Funeral service for Joan Nelson Hampton, 87, will be Saturday, January 31, 2015 at 1:00 PM at West Hartselle Baptist Church with Bro. Jack Redfearn officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Hartselle Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Saturday, January 31, 2015 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Church.
Mrs. Hampton died on Thursday, January 29, 2015 at her residence. She was born March 17, 1927, in Akron, OH, to James M. Nelson and Ora H. Creel Nelson. Mrs. Hampton was a charter member of West Hartselle Baptist Church and was the Ladies Sunday School Class teacher for over 40 years. She was also involved in the Girls Auxilary. She was preceded in death by her husband: James Hampton.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to Decatur Morgan Hospital-Fifth Floor Nursing Staff, and to Hospice of the Valley.
