Joan "Nanny" BroylesJoan “Nanny” Broyles passed away on Thursday, October 16, 2025 at her residence.  She was born April 12, 1936, in Ohio,  to Robert Eugene Silvers and Maxine Isabelle Huffman.

She was born and raised in Ohio and moved to Alabama with her husband to raise their daughter. She was a Christian lady and a homemaker for her family. She was affectionately known as “Nanny” and she loved her grandkids and great grandkids. She loved to sing, was a funny person, and was always starting congos.

Preceding her in death were her husband of over 50 years – William “Bill” Broyles, her parents, sisters- Jean Adkins (Okie), and Lois Albaugh (Butch) and a brother- Eddie Silvers and (Hilda).

Survivors include

Daughter – Lora Ramey (James Allman),

Brother – James “Jim” Silvers (Patricia)

Grandchildren –
Tonya Casteel (Shane),
Chad Bloodworth (Brenda), and
Kelly Ramey

Six Great Grandchildren –
Isaac Casteel,
Trey Casteel,
Sawyer Casteel,
Lillyan Bloodworth,
Callen Bloodworth, and
Steel Bloodworth.
