Joan Monroe, 88, of Huntsville, passed away on Friday. She helped build houses for Habitat and she was the commander of the DAVA. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Daniel Monroe, her parents, Margie Fisher King and James King; her brothers, Emory King, Frankie King and David King.
Survivors include her daughters, Sherry M. Williams and husband, Phil; Marilyn M. Howard and husband, Robert; and Laura Tovar and husband, Duncan; and her grandchildren, Pam M. Hunt, R.J. Howard, James Tovar, and Maria Tovar.
Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 27 at Laughlin Service Chapel with the funeral service following with the Rev. John Mullaney officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
