Joan Moses Joan Gilliam Moses, 90, of Fort Payne, passed away Monday, May 5, 2025 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born April 27, 1935 to the late John Edward Gilliam and Ruby Mae Chasteen Gilliam. She attended Oak Hill Baptist Church. She dedicated her life to caring for her husband, her children, and grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Perry Jones and Rev. Brian Harris officiating. Burial will follow in Fischer Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 6 until 8 p.m. and on Saturday from 12 noon until the 2 p.m. hour of service.

She is survived by her children Roger Moses, Lesia Cowart (Steve), Randy Moses (Tia), and Kay Gray (Michael); grandchildren Luke Moses, Whitney Culpepper (Ben), Harper Moses, Dalton Gray, and Lillie Moses; great-granddaughter Ellie Culpepper; sisters Gail Rowland and Cathy Crow; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 67 years Hulet Moses and her siblings Bobbie McPherson, Mary Jones, Elmer Gilliam, and Patricia Gay Gilliam.

The family extends a heartfelt “thank you” to caregivers Charity Gilbert, Selena Browning, and Sam Akins for their love and care.

Wilson Funeral Home and Crematory of Fort Payne is in charge of arrangements.
