Funeral services for Mrs. Joan E. Williams, age 90, will be held at 2 pm Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at the Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Oakland Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1 pm until service time on Tuesday.
Mrs. Williams was born on January 23, 1932 to her parents, Robbie Watson Ernest and Herbert Cowan Ernest Sr, and passed away on June 22, 2022.
Mrs. Williams grew up in Trenton, later moving to Memphis and finally residing in Middleton, TN. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and sister-in-law who will truly be missed by her loving family.
Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her loving husband of 71 years, Paul H. Williams; her brothers, H. C. Ernest Jr, and Neil ‘ Buddy” Ernest; and her grandson, Brian.
Mrs. Williams leaves behind three children, Paula (Bob) Morris, David (Beckye) Williams, and Kay (Curtis) McPherson; along with six grandchildren and their families; as well as her brother-in-law, Guy Henry Williams; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A special thanks to her caregiver, Angela, who loved her unconditionally and cared for her in her later years.
