Joan Davis Moore, age 88 of Decherd, passed away on Monday, March 28, 2022 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born on June 28, 1933 in Winchester to the late C.E. “Chief” and Maggie Buchanan Davis. Joan was a veteran of the United States Air Force and worked in telecommunications for the Pentagon and retired from AEDC. She enjoyed all sorts of activities such as reading, crocheting, gardening, sewing, cooking, and canning. She loved to travel and would like to visit the Smokey Mountains when she was able. Joan was highly intelligent and had a wonderful sense of humor. She will be remembered as a loving, caring and all-around best mom and grandmother. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by daughter, Teresa Joy Moore; son, Michael Joseph Moore and grandson, Christopher Blake Steele. She is survived by her daughters, Debra Trumbo and Sheila Moore; daughter-in-law, Connie Moore; grandchildren, JoAnna (Jeff) Roberts, Dillin (Traci) Cool, George Huffine, Teresa (Steve) Anker, Stephanie (Brian) McIntosh; many great grandchildren; and special great granddaughter, Tyler Kaitlin Hester. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at 2:00pm at Franklin Memorial Gardens.
