jo annJo Lynn Mouser Coussons, of Florence, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 4, 2016, after a full and rewarding life.
She was born and raised in Linden, Louisiana, where she married the love of her life, William McCoy Coussons, on June 3, 1956. When Bill graduated from LSU and was drafted, they moved to Augusta, Georgia. Jo Lynn and Bill lived in Shreveport, Louisiana and in Jackson, Mississippi before moving to the Shoals when Bill accepted a position at Muscle Shoals Gas.
They settled in Florence to raise their family. Jo Lynn worked as a bank teller, modeled for Parisian for many years, and worked part-time at various churches. Jo Lynn loved to entertain and was always the gracious hostess, opening her home to friends and family. They traveled extensively throughout the United States and around the world. Jo Lynn was fond of saying, “Have bag, will travel.”
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Gruner.
In addition to her loving husband Bill, she is survived by two sons, Michael W. Coussons and Russ L. Coussons and his wife, Robin; her brother, David Mouser and his wife, Vicky; and her grandchildren, Noah, Sarah Kate, Sydney, and Ella.
The family will receive friends Monday, Feb. 8, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at First Christian Church, 700 N. Wood Avenue, Florence. The funeral will follow at 1 p.m. with James Storie officiating. Entombment will be at Greenview Memory Gardens.
