Jo Annette Higginbotham Profile Photo In loving memory of Jo Higginbotham December 29th, 1964 – June 14th 2026

Jo was a woman of profound warmth – a devoted wife, a cherished mother, a loving sister, and a loyal friend. To know her was to know a heart that gave entirely of itself to everyone she met.

Jo possessed a deeply creative spirit. She found joy in making things beautiful, pouring her whole heart into every project, whether she was crafting at home or with the children at church. The children’s ministry held a uniquely sacred place in her soul, and she treasured every moment she spent laughing with, and inspiring the children at church.

While Jo embraced each of her roles with grace, her greatest masterpiece was her family. She was a steadfast wife, a supportive sister and a nurturing mother – but it was the title of grandmother that truly lit up her world. Her love for her grandchildren was both fierce and everlasting. She was a fixture of joy at every milestone, present for the excitement of first birthdays, the romance of weddings, and eventually the profound blessings of welcoming her great grandchildren into the world. There was no greater happiness in Jo’s life than the day she held those great grandchildren for the very first time. Above all else, her favorite place in the world was simply being “Mawmaw Jo”.

Jo’s love lives own through her surviving family:• Her devoted husband: Steve Higginbotham • Her beloved mother: Patricia Green• Her brothers: John Green Jr. (& wife, Terri) Ron Green (& wife, Marilyn)• Her daughter: Teresa Knowles (& husband, Steve)• Her cherished grandsons: Steven Windham III (& wife, Abby) Joshua Windham (& wife, Maria)• Her cherished granddaughters: Haley Hanson (& husband, Chris) Emily Hays (& husband, Matt)• Her precious great-granddaughters: Lillian Windham & Ava Hays• Her precious great-grandsons: Micah Hanson & Harvey Hays• Her extended family: many dearly loved nieces, nephews, & lifelong friends.

Jo has been reunited in peace with those who went before her:• Her father: John O’dell Green Sr.• Her brother: Daniel Green Sr.• Her sister: Juanita GreenJo’s legacy is one of creativity, faith, and an abundance of love. Though she is dearly missed the warmth of “Mawmaw Jo” will remain forever in our hearts.
