Jo Ed Clark – Obituary

Mr. Jo Ed Clark, age 89, of Decatur passed away on Thursday, Jan. 26, 2017 at his residence. Service will be Monday, Jan. 30, 2017, at 9 a.m. at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Steve Smith officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m. in Parlor B. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Nashville, Tennessee at 2 p.m.

Mr. Clark was born Jan. 30, 1927, in Paducah, Kentucky, to Cortez Clark and Katherine Usrey Clark. He was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson, Matthew Clark and his sister, Wanda Clark Brusse.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Barbara Brusse Clark; two sons, Don Clark (Beth) of Florence and Doug Clark (Tammy) of Decatur; three granddaughters, Brandi Hammock (Billy) of Florence, Courtney Clark and Chelsea Lanier (Daniel), both of Decatur; grandson, Mitchell Clark of Decatur; great-grandson Gage Roberts of Decatur.

Mr. Clark graduated from Columbia High School and attended CMA in Columbia, Tennessee before entering the U.S. Army. He served in the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Army of Occupation. He graduated from Lipscomb College in Nashville, Tennessee in 1950. He was a CPA for Genesco in Nashville retiring in 1993.

Mr. Clark and his wife moved to Decatur in 2005. He was a member of Beltline Church of Christ.
