Jo Anna Franks, 81, died Wednesday, March 30, 2016, at the Sanctuary Hospice House. She was born March 22, 1935, to Archie House and Maude Battles House Miller. She was retired from Mantachie Manufacturing after more than 40 years. She was a born again believer. She enjoyed flowers, gardening, cooking, and especially enjoyed being around her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a. m. Saturday, April 2, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Mantachie with Bro. Castor Buse and Bro. Darrell Sanderson officiating. Burial will be in the Stephens Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband, Charles B. Franks; one son, Mike Franks; one daughter, Sue Thompson, all of Mantachie; two brothers, Gaither Dodson (Betty) and Tommy Dodson (Charlotte); one sister, Carolyn Dodson, all of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; one sister-in-law, Janice Smith of Mantachie; three grandchildren, Lisa Underwood, Miranda Tucker, and Zac Franks; three great-grandchildren, Kayleigh Underwood, Annaliese Underwood, and Brayleigh Tucker.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Junior House; three sisters, Orell Hallman, Juanita Hallman, and Bertie Kizziah; and her parents.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 1, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home in Mantachie.
