A Celebration of Life service for Jimmy Wayne Glidewell will be Sunday, August 18, 2019 at 3:00 P M at Magnolia Funeral Home Chapel of Memories with interment to follow at Pleasant Hill Methodist Church Cemetery. Bro. Gary Black and Bro. Joe Marsh will officiate the service. Visitation will be Sunday, August 18, 2019 from 12:00 noon until service time at Magnolia Funeral Home. Mr. Glidewell passed away Thursday, August 15, 2019 at Magnolia Regional Health Center. He was born March 15, 1939 in Alcorn County, MS to William M. “Dub” Glidewell and Annie B. Willis Glidewell. He retired after working 14 years for Alcorn County and he worked for ITT for 15 years. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and had an avid love for horses and his family, especially his granddaughter Julia. Wayne is survived by his wife, Deborah Glidewell of Corinth, MS; his daughters, Cynthia Elizabeth Glidewell (Jeff) of Memphis, TN and Rita Ann Glidewell of Corinth, MS; his son, Steve Glidewell (Michelle) of Corinth, MS; Chris Mitchell (Briony) of Corinth, MS – whom he thought of as his son; his step-daughter, Amanda Marsh (Javeed) of Corinth, MS; his step-sons, Dan Marsh of Corinth, MS and Joe Marsh (Jodie) of Corinth, MS; his granddaughter, Julia Glidewell; his step-grandchildren, Max Marsh, Ava Marsh, Allie Marsh, Ellie Marsh and Noah Jalla; special cousin, Darnell Glidewell (Lois) of Corinth, MS; other relatives and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Christine Glidewell; his father, William M. “Dub” Glidewell; his mother, Annie B. Willis Glidewell and his step-grandson, Landon Marsh. Pallbearers will be Lowell Hinton, James Voyles, Tim Mitchell, Jimmy Tate Waldon, Ben Caldwell, Johnny Crotts, Clayton Stanley and Bill Davis. Honorary pallbearers will be his neighbors and friends of the Pleasant Hill Community. Magnolia Funeral Home has been honored to serve the family of Mr. Jimmy Wayne Glidewell.
