Jimmy Tate, 80, passed away Monday, June 16, 2025 at Iuka Hospital, Iuka, MS. He was born in Stuttgart, AR to Rebon and Inez Tate. Jimmy retired from Reynold’s Alloy where he was a sheet metal worker. He was a member of Red Bay Free Will Baptist Church and he loved being a papaw.

Services will be Wednesday, June 18, 4 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay, AL with Bro. Steve Lindsay and Jeremy Robinson officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 18, 2-4 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL. Burial will be in Ebenezer Cemetery, Vina, AL. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL will be in charge of arrangements.

He is survived by two daughters, Liz Jones (Mike) and Pam Miller (Wesley); two granddaughers, Kelly Walters (Tucker) and Abbey Ivester (David); a sister-in-law, Ola Mae Glover and a host of nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sue Tate; his parents; his in-laws, Ellis and Viola Humphries and siblings, Bobby Tate, Sylvia Carpenter, Barbara Jackson and Gary Tate.

Pallbearers will be Carl Fowler, Jay Tate, Paul Huffman, Tucker Walters, Mike Pounders and Charlie Huffman. Honorary pallbearers will be Glen Witt and James Carpenter.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Southern Magnolia for the care they gave to their loved one.
