Funeral Services for Mr. Jimmy Sterl Jordan, age 88 of Lineville, will be held on Thursday, April 17, 2025 at 12:00 P.M. at Barfield Baptist Church with Rev. John Howell officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery. The public visitation will take place from 10:00 A.M. until service time at 12:00 P.M.

Mr. Jordan passed away very peacefully at his home on Monday, April 14, 2025. He grew up in Clay County, was an All-Star basketball player and graduate of Lineville High School, and served in the Alabama National Guard. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Jimmy worked for Bearden Oil and Spurlin Oil before going into business for himself. He ran Jordan Petroleum, Inc. alongside his two sons for over 50 years. He served on the Clay County Hospital Board for several years. He was a member of Barfield Baptist Church where he served as chairman of the deacons for many years.

Mr. Jordan is survived by his wife of 66 years, Peggy Lett Jordan of Lineville; two sons: Don Jordan and Jim Jordan (Susie), both of Lineville; six grandchildren: Josh (Taylor), Chase, Zach (Rachel), Alli, Jesse, and Tyler Jordan; two great-grandchildren: Teddy and Lucy Jordan.

Mr. Jordan is preceded in death by his parents: John Sterl Jordan and Eunice W. Jordan; sister, Margaret Moore (Johnny); and niece, Sharon Moore.

Active Pallbearers will be Josh Jordan, Chase Jordan, Zach Jordan, Tyler Jordan, Jeff Kinder, Larry Robertson, Tyler Jennings, David Upchurch, and Dan Porter. Honorary Pallbearers will be the deacons of Barfield Baptist Church.

The family would like to extend a special Thank You to Lineville Health and Rehab and Compassus Hospice Care for all of their help.
