Rev. Jimmy Oliver Carr, 83 of Bessemer, went home to be with the Lord on Friday Dec. 3, 2021.
He was an Independent Church of God minister. The churches he pastored included, Cullman COGOP, Sayre COGOP, Hamilton COGOP and Huntsville- Mastin Lake Rd. COGOP. He served as State Evangelist for the Church of God of Prophecy as well at State Overseer for The Church of God
Funeral services will be Tuesday Dec. 7,2021 at 2:00 pm in the New Horizon Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in New Horizon Memorial Gardens. Visitation is Monday 6-8 pm.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Verbie Carr; brothers, Gary Wayne Carr, Kenneth Carr and Edwin Carr and sister, Judy Carr.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Bonnie Carr; daughters, Cathy Cruce (Mark) and Joyce Quinn (Chris); grandchildren, Andrea Quinn Webb (Randy) and Jason Cruce; great granddaughter, Rylee “Sunshine” Webb; brother, Donny Carr; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
The family wishes to express their thanks to Reba Blankenship, who is more like a daughter than a niece, for her invaluable dedication in caring for Uncle Jim.
