Jimmy Mac Briggs

Age 89 of White House passed away Friday, May 26, 2023 at NHC in Springfield. He was born March 13, 1934 in Greenbrier, TN to Curnie Leonard & Mamie Belle Callis Briggs, Sr. He owned and operated Briggs Upholstery Shop for many years Jimmy proudly served his country in Korea in the U.S. Army. He was a member of Mount Pleasant UMC Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Cynthia Anne Atkins. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Peggy Briggs, White House, TN; sons, Anthony Mark (Karen) Briggs, White House, TN and Tim (Andrea) Briggs, Cottontown, TN; daughter, Melanie (Bryan) Jones, White House, TN; brother, Wayne (Linda) Briggs, Goodlettsville, TN; sister-in-law, Joan Briggs, Gallatin, TN; 9 grandchildren, Kyle (Andrea) Ruffin, Tyler (John) Ruffin, Barry (Shelby) Hutchison, Sarah Briggs, Hannah Jones, Matthew Jones, Taylor Briggs, Nathan Jones and Lily Briggs. Funeral service is scheduled for Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at 2pm in the chapel of Austin & Bell Funera Home in White House, with Kevin Ragland officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery with grandsons serving as pallbearers and with military honors. Visitation is planned for Wednesday, May 31, 2023 10am until 2pm at the funeral home.
