Jimmy M. Britnell, 85, of Lexington died Monday, February 25, 2013, at UAB Hospital.
Visitation will be from 6-9 PM Wednesday, February 27, 2013, at Elkins East Chapel. Funeral services will be at 11 AM Thursday, February 28, 2013, at Elkins East Chapel, with Bro. Rickey Greene officiating . Burial will be at Pettus Cemetery in Lexington.
Mr. Britnell served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Green’s Chapel Methodist Church. He proudly took care of the ball fields for Lexington Dixie Youth for many years.
Mr. Britnell is survived by his son, Doyle Britnell (Shree); grandchildren, Mitzi Jones (Wesley), Trudy Ramsey (Trever), and Bruce Britnell (Erin); great-grandchildren, Alexis Jones, Makenzie Ramsey, Caleb Ramsey, Zoe Jones, Caven Jones, and Lyla Britnell.
Pallbearers will be Bruce Britnell, Corey McGee, Jason Williams, Anthony Michael, Trever Ramsey, and Wesley Jones.
