Longtime Tupelo businessman/entrepreneur, raconteur  and  beloved character, Jimmy Long, departed this life for his eternal reward from The Magnolia in Oxford on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 after battling dementia for the last few years. He was 79.   Jimmy was a vital part of MLM Clothiers, including owner, for over 50 years until his retirement in 2017.  He enjoyed assisting Tupelo’s best dressed souls and getting to know his customers and sharing their lives. A lifelong member of First United Methodist Church in Tupelo, Jimmy cut a wide path and touched the lives of thousands.  He is survived by his wife, Sharon Long; his daughters, Melissa and Susan; his grandchildren, Jack, Charlie, Maggie, Mary Morgan and Anna Kirk and two sisters, Patricia Cook and Claudette Campbell and a host of other relatives and friends.

A Service of Death and Resurrection celebrating Jimmy’s life will be held at 12:30 PM Thursday, August 11, 2022 from the Sanctuary of First United Methodist Church in Tupelo with Rev. Rusty Keen and Rev. Dr. Raigan Miskelly officiating.  Visitation will be from 10 AM-service time on Thursday in Wesley Hall with a reception to follow the service in Wesley Hall.   Holland Funeral Directors-Tupelo is honored to be serving their friends.
