Jimmy Lon Davis – Obituary

Jimmy Lon Davis, age 77, of Summertown, Tennessee passed away on Sunday, February 19, 2017 at his residence.

Jimmy was born on May 27, 1939 in Williamsport, Tennessee to Lon and Ruth Baker Davis, and was one of eleven children. He was married to Rachel Lewis Davis for fifty-seven years and they loved each other and their family together through bad times and good. Jimmy was a hard worker, and worked for many years at Publix Shirt Company as a sewing machine repairman. He loved to work on small engines and was talented at it. He also enjoyed gardening and raised both vegetables and flowers. He kept his loving wife Rachel in roses all the time. He was a fisherman, and loved to fish, but didn’t get the chance to go very often.

Left to cherish the memory of Jimmy are his wife: Rachel Davis of Summertown; son: Jeffrey (Angela) Davis of Summertown; grandchildren: Breanna Wilson of Culleoka, Cole and Cain Davis of Summertown; great-grandchild: Kaleigh Ann Marie Wilson of Culleoka; and step-grandson: Blake Warren of Centerville. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter: Vicky Elaine Davis.

Funeral services for Jimmy will be held on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Bro. Bob Vassar officiating. Burial will follow at Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service also on Wednesday.

Eddie Kincaid, Doug Yan, Ricky Miller, Chris Miller, Corey Beckum and Tyler Holloway will serve as pallbearers.
