Jim is survived by his son, Rod (Sue) Kirstein, Jeff (Pam) Kirstein; daughter, Kim (Marty) Goolesby; grandchildren, Darrell Mays, Stacy Clarke, Amanda (Brett) Hammon, Danielle (Weston) Meeks, Ryan (Erica) Kirstein, Chasity Goolesby, Jay Goolesby; great grandchildren, Gage, Hunter, Peggy, Annabelle, Mecala (Jake) Lewis, Mikinley (Troy) Saint, Baylee Clarke, Ava Hammon, Grayson Hammon; great-great grandchildren, Lorelia, Jack, Elisabeth, Rylee, Ariyah, and several nieces and nephews; brothers, Coy Kirstein, Tom Kirstein; and sister, Frankie Smith.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Mollie Kirstein; brother, Dink; sisters, Margaret Roberts, and Nancy Race.
The family will receive friends Monday, May 11, 2026 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Scottsboro Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be conducted on Tuesday, May 12, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. at Scottsboro Funeral Home with Brother Isaac Mays officiating. Burial will follow in the Section Bluff Cemetery.
