Jimmy Lavon Watkins Profile Photo Jimmy Lavon Watkins, age 68, a resident of Columbia, passed away on Thursday, November 27, 2025, at Life Care Center.

Born on October 20, 1957, in Marshall County, Tennessee, Jimmy was the son of the late William Curtis Watkins and the late Mary Virgie Toone Watkins. He was known as a “pool shark,” spending countless hours perfecting his shot and enjoying friendly competition. He was also a true “gear head,” always tinkering with cars, and fixing things.

He is survived by his sons, Jimmy Wayne (Jesie) Watkins, Brian (Dana) Storey, sisters, Patsy (Bill) Brown, Catha Reese, Sharon Hargrove, Rebecca Peete, Sandra (Richard) Fleck, grandchildren, Alek Watkins, Laila Watkins, Connor Storey, Carson Storey, sisters in law, Edith Watkins, Donna Watkins, Nancy Watkins, brother in law, Marty Middleton, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Mike Watkins, Jerry Watkins, Rickey Watkins, William Curtis “Bobby” Watkins, Jr., sister, Millie Lou Middleton, and brothers in law, Gary Reese, Thomas Hargrove, and Larry Peete.

He will be laid to rest at a later date in Philadelphia Cemetery in Columbia. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
