Jimmy Hoyt Robinson, 77, of Muscle Shoals, passed away Saturday, June 16, 2018. A memorial service will be Thursday, June 21, 2018 at 5 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia, with Rev. Budd Swindall of Southside, Alabama officiating. Jimmy will be laid to rest in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
Jimmy was a native of Gadsden in Etowah County. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving on the U.S.S. Long Beach, CGN-9, Heavy Duty Nuclear Cruiser, the first nuclear powered ship to travel around the world which was visited by President John F. Kennedy. Jimmy was a loving family man. He wanted nothing more than for everyone to be happy and always had a genuine smile for all.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Judd Lester and Beulah Frances Robinson; brother, Lester Junior Robinson; and sisters, Willa Dean Robinson Swindall and Katherine Louise Beach.
He is survived by his loving wife, Cat, of 57 years; son, Jimmy Craig Robinson (Lucinda Henshaw); sisters, Frances Robinson, Carolyn Bolton, Ann Woodard and Diane Richardson; grandchildren, Jamie Robinson (Destinee Butler), Jamie Scott, Daniel Sorrell, Nicole Godwin (Jeremy); great-grandchildren, Kylee Brooke Robinson, Landon Trace Robinson, Carson Deaton and Kennedy Godwin; and a host of nieces and nephews.
