Jimmy Harrison Crawford, 67, passed away Thursday, December 8, 2016 at the VA Hospital in Memphis. He was born June 27, 1949 in Wilson, Arkansas, the son of Aubrey and Charlene Springer Crawford. Jimmy proudly served his country with four years in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War, six years in the Army National Guard and two years in the reserves. He was an M.P and retired as a captain. He was a lifelong military man at heart; he was a patriot who loved his country and served with distinction. After his military career, he worked as an electronic technician for the US Postal Service for 16 years. Jim often said that he was truly blessed that God led him to the Post Office. He loved his job and the men and women he worked with there. He was a lifelong member of the Assembly of God and an avid reader. Jimmy loved spending time with his family, but especially loved the time he spent playing with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed working with his hands whether it was tinkering with cars or working on the many home improvements his wife had him do around the home.
Services will be 2 pm Tuesday with Rev. Dave Hackney officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park. Lee Memorial Funeral Directors is entrusted with the arrangements. A reception will follow the services at the Union Grove Church of God in Mooreville.
