Jimmy “Hammer” Hamric of Decatur passed away on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at Decatur Health and Rehab. Funeral Service will be Monday, April 21, 2025 at 12:00 Noon at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Wendell Bennett officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM at the chapel. Mr. Hamric will be laid to rest at Limestone Memorial Gardens in Athens, AL following the service.
Mr. Hamric was born to Alva Lee and Bonnie June Williams Hamric. He retired from Saginaw GM after working in the auto industry for nearly 30 years.
Mr. Hamric was a loving husband, son, brother, uncle and friend. His kindness and love will endure in the hearts of all who knew him.
Mr. Hamric was preceded in death by his father, Alva Hamric; brother, Jerry Hamric; and aunt, Joyce Williams.
Mr. Hamric is survived by his wife, Diane Hamric; two cats, Willie and Nelson; mother, Bonnie Hamric; sister, Charlotte Lynn Hayes (Ian); sister-in-law, Deb Hamric; and two nephews, Ryan Lynn and Blake Hamric.
Pallbearers will be Richard Dubbs, Ian Hayes, Dennis Alred, Mickey Hacket, Lyle Poteet, and Bobby Fine.
Shelton Funeral Home was honored and entrusted to assist the family with arrangements.
