Jimmy "Hambone" Hambrick  Jimmy “Hambone” Hambrick, of Albertville Alabama, passed away surrounded by the family he loved so much. Jim was a devoted husband, dad, and “poppy,” and nothing made him happier than being with the people he cared about.

He leaves behind his wife of 52 years, Rita, and his three daughters, Kelly (Kevin) McKinney,
Brandi (Jeff) Mathe, and Roslyn (Terrell) England, who meant the world to him. Jim was “poppy” to Drew and Finley Mathe, and Carson and Dallon McNair. He adored his grandkids so much, they moved to Birmingham, Alabama 25 years ago to be closer to them. He’s also survived by his brothers, J.B. Holsonback Jr. and Joe Holsonback, his sister Diane Holsonback Smith, and several wonderful nieces and nephews.

Jim proudly served in the U.S. Air Force and carried that pride with him throughout his life. He
loved both playing and watching golf, and he was a devoted Alabama football fan. During
football season, you always knew where to find him – cheering on the Crimson Tide with his
beloved wife, Rita.

Jim will be remembered for his big heart, his easy smile, his sense of humor, and the way he
always showed up for the people he loved. He also had a special bond with his cat, Nick
(Saban), who never left his side. He will be deeply missed.

A Memorial Visitation will be held from12:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at Adams Brown Service Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Crossville, AL.
