Mr. Jimmy “Eric” Black of Arab, Alabama; passed away in the early hours of Friday – July 2, 2021 at the age of 61 years.
Mr. Black was born on January 13, 1960 in Lon Poc, California to the late Jimmy Elta Black and Shirley Laura Rowland Black. In his earlier days, Eric worked as a maintenance technician for Tyson Foods. He enjoyed watching Alabama Football; loved learning and talking about history; remodeling and carpentry work; but above all he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren; three of whom were raised by himself and his beloved wife Gayle. In his faith, Eric was of the Church of Christ.
Mr. Black will be forever remembered by his beloved wife, Gayle Jean Jarvis Black; daughter, Christina Bailey (Ryan); son, Dustin Gronewold (Jerri Poteet); sister, Sharon Black; grandchildren, Joshua Bailey, Jacob Bailey, Austin Bailey, Devin Arndt, Peighton Gronewold, Kaia Gronewold, Bryson Gronewold and Cylis Gronewold.
In addition to his parents; Mr. Black is at last reunited with his brother; Javis Rowland Black and sister; Terri Lynn Black Lowery.
A visitation will be held at the Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel on Wednesday – July 7, 2021 from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Funeral Service will be held at the Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel on Wednesday – July 7, 2021 at 2:00 p.m.
