Jimmy Duane Dunnavant, 76, Ardmore, Tennessee passed away at his home, Monday, April 8, 2024. He was born in Pulaski, Tennessee on June 16, 1947 to Robert Gordon Dunnavant, Sr and Annie Louise Campbell Dunnavant.
Jimmy has lived in this area all his life and attended Elkton Baptist Church. He was in Vietnam in 173rd Airborne of the Army and was a Staff Seargent. He received 2 Purple Hearts and the Bronze Star while serving our country. After retirement from the United States Post Office he enjoyed piddling around and being outdoors.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Verna Jean Dunnavant; brothers, Billy Rolin, Sammy Dunnavant, and Robert Gordon Dunnavant, Jr.; and step-son, Wayne Rolin.
He is survived by his son, Jason (Paula) Dunnavant; daughter, Susan Rolin, sister, Cecilia (Larry) Hasting; grandchildren, Jordan (Shay) Dorl, Krista Wiley, Matthew (Grace) Dunnavant, and Morgan (Carson) Dunnavant; and great grandchildren, Cheyenne, Koleson, Wyatt, McKinley, Charlie and Olivia.
Services will be Saturday, April 13, 2024 at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama with visitation being held from 12 Noon until service time at 2:00 PM in the Chapel. Burial will follow at Dunnavant Cemetery, Prospect, TN.
Pallbearers will be Nathan Dunnavant, Gary Mealer, Cody Wood, Carson Appleton, Clayton McAlister and Matthew Dunnavant.
