Funeral service for Dillard Ray Jones, age 77, of Danville, will be 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 12, 2024, at Enon Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Ledbetter and Bro. Tim Keenum officiating and Parkway Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends for two hours prior to service at the church. Interment will be in Enon Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Jones, who died Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at his residence, was born December 10, 1946, in Alabama to Charlie Dean Jones and Sallie Ret Keenum Jones. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Ronnie Jones. Dillard served as a deacon for Enon Baptist Church for 27 years. He retired from Solutia in 2002. His leisure time was spent wood working, yard saling, traveling, and enjoying home made ice cream. A veteran of the U. S. Army, honorably discharged in May of 1979, he was also a lifelong hunter of deer, quail and squirrel. But Dillard’s favorite hobby was spending time with his grandchildren, Savannah and Charlie.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy (Brom) Jones; son, Chris Jones (Ginger); two daughters, Tina Jones and Misty Jones; sister-in-law, Betty Jones; and grandchildren, Savannah Jones Glover (Levi) and Charlie Jones.
Pallbearers will be Charlie Jones, Levi Glover, Tim Tucker, Darrell Black, Greg Keenum, and Jeremy McCormick. Honorary pallbearers will be the deacons of Enon Baptist Church.
