Jimmy Dean Dye, Sr., age 82, of Haleyville, AL passed away on Monday August 7, 2023. He was retired from U.S. Postal Service, as a Asst. Post Master and a member of Ninth Avenue Church of Christ.
The visitation will be Thursday, August 10, 2023, from 6:00-8:00 PM at Pinkard Funeral Home, Haleyville, AL. The funeral will be Friday, August 11, 2023, at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with Vance Hutton, McKinley Pate and Matthew Balentine officiating. Burial will follow at Bear Creek Cemetery. Jimmy Dye, II, Brian Fortenberry, Logan Dye, Grant Dye, Cameron West and Toby Hargett will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Sam Heath, Brittany Swims, DJ Terrell, Jarad Brimer and Chance Fortenberry.
Mr. Dye is survived by his wife, Glenda Anne Dye; children, Sandra (Toby) Hargett, Patricia (Brian) Fortenberry and Jimmy (Jamie) Dye; grandchildren, Brittany Swims, Heather (Cameron) West, Briana Swims, Chance (Veronica) Fortenberry, Logan (Sarah) Dye and Grant Dye; great grandchildren, Lannah Alexander, Lilly Alexander, Samuel Beasley, Kaelyn Beasley, Braxton West, Leo Fortenberry, Finley Fortenberry and Beckett West; niece, Linda Pate; and nephew, Sam (Lisa) Heath.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Rudy and Mary Dye; sisters, Jo Frances Harold, Nina May Brent and Doris Jean Heath; and niece, Debbie Jo Alexander.
