Jimmie Reeder Wisdom, 69, of Greenhill, passed away from this life Sept. 28, 2012.
He was born in Florence, the son of the late Walter Reeder and Gracie Gray Wisdom. He attended International Bible College and served as a Church of Christ minister for more than 50 years at various locations throughout Florida, Mississippi and Alabama, most recently Midway Church of Christ, Lawrenceburg, Tenn.
Mr. Wisdom was a graduate of Lexington High School in Lauderdale County, and leaves behind scores of friends, family members and colleagues. He was active in youth ministry through the years and will be loved and missed by many within the church and the communities which he so diligently served.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Mrs. Judy Hammond Wisdom, of Greenhill. Mr. Wisdom is also survived by two daughters, Krista Wisdom, of Loretto, Tenn., and Misty Word (Mark), of Prattville, and four stepchildren, Stephen Ferguson, Timothy Hammond, Tika Crowden (Edmond) and Kimberly Hammond. He had three grandsons and nine stepgrandchildren.
Mr. Wisdom is survived by his sisters, Diana Burney (Dale), of Killen, Janice Barrett (David), of Central Heights, and Tangela Owens (Larry), of Morgan City, along with several nieces and nephews. He leaves behind many cousins and loved ones.
Pallbearers will be Edmond Crowden, Tyler Crowden, Mark Word, Andrew Word, Blair Boothe, David Barrett, Dale Burney, Alex Smith, Larry Owens, Nick Specker and Wayne Smith.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. today at Greenhill Funeral Home. Funeral services will be open to friends and family at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Officiating will be Scott McCown, Leon Smith and Stan Dean. Burial will immediately follow at Center Hill Church of Christ.
Monetary donations may be made to St. Joseph Church of Christ.
