Jimmie Joyce Wiseman, age 83 of Decherd, passed away on July 25, 2023. She was born in Moore County on March 1, 1940, to the late James Monroe and Minnie Lesley Counts. Joyce worked as a bookkeeper for CO-OP for forty years until she retired. When she was not working, she enjoyed fishing, working in her garden, sewing, and spending time with her family. She will be remembered as a loving family woman, a wonderful cook, and a huge Elvis Presley fan. Joyce was a member of the Decherd Nazarene Church. Joyce is preceded in death by her parents, James and Minnie Counts. She is survived by her husband of sixty-six years, B.W. Wiseman of Decherd; children, Shelia (Rex) Clark of Decherd, Gina (Scott) Jenkins of Winchester; grandchildren, Brandi (Michael) Danley, Jonathan (Erin) Clark, Gracie Jenkins (Kyle Dolan), and Emily Jenkins; great-grandchildren, Taylor Danley, Mattie Danley, Ashtyn Danley, Caden Clark, Coralynn Clark, Cameron Gilliam, and Caydon Bradford; sister, Doris Eslick of Lynchburg; and several nieces and nephews. The family sends a sincere thank you to Betty Duncan and the nurses at Gentiva Hospice Facility. Visitation will be held from 1:00pm-3:00pm on Friday, July 28, 2023, at the Moore-Cortner Funeral Home Chapel.
