Jimmie Holden, 85, of Harvest passed away on August 10, 2020.  Mr. Holden was a veteran of service in the U.S. Air Force and went on to work at NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center. During his time at NASA, he worked on the dynamic test stand for the Apollo program and also worked on Skylab before beginning work with was then the Army Missile Command at Redstone Arsenal. During his time as a civilian working for the Army, Mr. Holden worked at Test Area 5 at the propulsion test facilities until his retirement from Civil Service. He then purchased property and worked for many years to bring his vision for Camp for Christ to reality while also working at ERC Inc. in the NASA calibration lab. He built many cabins and recreation facilities at Camp for Christ for Church groups to use in retreats for their youth programs and had many groups use those facilities.

A graveside service will be held for Mr. Holden on August 14, 2020 at 10:00 A.M. at Butler Cemetery in Killen, Alabama. Danny Holden is officiating the service. Arrangements were entrusted to Elkins Funeral Home. You are welcome to leave condolences on our website at www.elkinsfuneralhome.com.
