Jimmie Harold Shirley passed away August 23, 2021 surrounded by family. He was born June 23, 1938 to Murphy (Geneva Yancy) Shirley in Marion County Alabama. The family moved to Illinois when he was in his teens. He married Annie Mae Beverley March 3, 1956. They moved to Plano, Illinois and raised their family. He worked and retired from Austin Western/Clark Equipment in Aurora. In 1978 he moved his family to Bear Creek, Alabama. He worked at multiple businesses in northwest Alabama. He retired from Elixir in Tuscumbia, Alabama.
Visitation will be Saturday, September 4, 2021 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Pinkard Funeral Home, Haleyville, Alabama. Funeral service will begin at 3:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Mt. Home Cemetery, Bear Creek, Alabama.
He is survived by his four children, Cheryl Shirley (Paul) Ronning, Michael Shirley, Steven (Robin Harker) Shirley and Judith Shirley (Russel) Austin; 15 grandchildren, Patrick Christopher (Kalla Green) Ronning, Megan Nix (Jessie) LaGrange, Melissa Page (Gary) Richardson, Brandon (Kala) Shirley, Annie Mae Beverly Shirley, Nick Harker, Rachel Harker, Chris (Ashley Foss) Fagan and Theresa Herandez; 16 great grandchildren, Faith Ronning, Caidon, Kloe & Kynlee Ronning, Aron Nix, Merideth, Cora & JJ LaGrange, Madison & Matthew Gulledge, Miackah & Sydni Richardson, Ella & AdeLynn Shirley, Joesph Villalobos & Journey Hernandez; sister, Wyveta (Bill) Wallace, Sr.; sisters in law, Mary Shirley, Eileen Beverley, Dorthey Needham; brother in law, Frank Jr. (Sharon) Beverley; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Annie Mae Beverley Shirley; parents, Murphy (Geneva Yancy) Shirley; his in-laws, Frank Sr. (Julia) Beverley; grandson, Jason Ronning; brother, Kennith Shirley; brothers in law, James Needham, John (Jack) Beverley; sister in law, Sharon Beverley; nieces, Laura & Diane Needham; nephew, Bill Wallace, Jr.; great grandson, Wyatt Lynn Richardson; and great granddaughter, Mireya Angelea Hernandez.
