Ms. Jimmie Francis Hornsby passed away Sunday, December 31, 2023. She will be interred alongside her parents, L. A. and Jewell Hornsby and near her siblings, Juanita Marshman, Sue Belrose and Mike Hornsby at Beulah Cemetery in Boaz. She is survived by her two sisters, Shirley Chaffin and Sandra Ziglin as well as ten nieces and nephews and a host of great and great-greats that follow.
Jimmie was born in Albertville in 1942 but grew up mostly in Birmingham shortly after graduation from Phillips High School in 1960. She was hired by Social Security as a clerk/stenographer. Through hard work and dedication working in the Birmingham then the Bessemer social security offices, in 1983 she was given the opportunity to manage the Social Security office in Albertville. She remained in that position until her retirement in 2000.
She was a strong, intelligent and inspiring woman, who was loved and will be missed by many.
