Funeral services for Mr. Jimmie Caldwell Allen, age 95, will be held at 1 pm Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at the Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Brent Smith officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Oakland Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11 am until service time on Wednesday.
Mr. Allen passed away Monday, December 6, 2021 at Trenton Healthcare. He was born on October 22, 1926 in Gibson County to the late Earl and Fannie Allen. He enlisted in the Navy at the age of 15 and served in World War II. He married Ruth Lowery in July 1946 and they were happily married for 70 years. He retired from the Milan Arsenal after 20 years and then worked for Ace Hardware for another 22 years. He was a faithful member of the Trenton Church of Christ.
Mr. Allen was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Lowery Allen; parents, Earl and Fannie Allen; and siblings, Wallace, Vetrice, Mary Lynn, and Sybil.
Mr. Allen is survived by a daughter, Dianne Richardson; 2 granddaughters, Holly Barrnett (Scott) and Kelly Pulley (Brian), both of Trenton, TN; 4 great grandchildren, Lauren and Lillie Joyce, and Hayden and Cole Barnett; and 2 great-great grandchildren, Khaden and Blakely Edwards.
