Funeral service for Jim Roberts age 52 of Hartselle will be Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at 2:00pm at New Center Baptist Church with Brother Bobby Newman and Brother Ben Bates officiating with burial in the adjoining cemetery with Military Honors and Peck Funeral Home directing. He will lie in state one hour prior to the service. Visitation will be from 6:00pm until 8:00pm Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
Jim went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 2, 2018 after a long battle with cancer He was born May 23, 1966 in Decatur, Alabama to Doyle Roberts and Martha Ann LeCroix Roberts. Jim was a Christian and a member of New Center Baptist Church, was a U.S. Army Veteran serving during Desert Storm. He was a truck driver for T & T Trucking Company and had had formerly worked for UPS Freight. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister; Debbie Whitt.
He is survived by his son; Garrett Roberts of Hartselle, a brother; Keith Roberts and his wife Tammi of Decatur and a nephew; Adam Roberts of Decatur.
Johnny Beard, Jimmy Walker, Craig Terry, Pat Halbrooks, Bill Parker and Frankie Moore will serve as pallbearers.
His family would like to express their appreciation to Jim’s Church family and to Southern Care-New Beacon Hospice nurse, Anna Dove for their wonderful, loving and compassionate care of Jim during his illness.
