Jim Ed Elkins, 73 of Arab Alabama, the Strawberry Community, died Monday November 21, 2016 at his residence.
Mr. Elkins was born May 19, 1943 in Marshall County to Franklin Ray Elkins and Leora Atchley Elkins. He was a cattle farmer and enjoyed bird hunting, fishing and playing cards. He served in the U.S. Army.
He was a member of Sweet Home Baptist Church.
He is survived by his children: Frank Elkins, Alicia Elkins and Jana Elkins; grandchildren: Jordan Elkins, Danielle Elkins, Brian Elkins and Jade Elkins; great grandchildren: Brentley Jones and Trevor Elkins; sisters: Eva Embry, Mary Gem Tidmore and Barbara Zak and The Lakeview Dialysis Team. He was preceded in death by his son: Corbie Joe Bailey and a brother Kenneth Elkins and a sister Alice Ruth Wright.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday November 23, 2016 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in Edgewood Cemetery at Grassy with Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, directing.
Pallbearers will be Jordan Elkins, Brian Elkins, Justin Kuehnert, Frankie Fuentes, Dewayne Allison and Josh Doster.
Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday November 22, 2016 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel.
