Graveside services for Mr. Jim Cook, age 94, are scheduled for 2:00pm Sunday, July 12 at Lexington Cemetery with burial to follow. Mr. Cook passed away Friday in Lexington. He served as a Army veteran in WWII from April 11,1944 until May 14, 1946, on returning home after the war he farmed a few years before starting to drive a school bus for Henderson County Board of Education and owning a full service Service Station in Lexington for over 30 years. He was a Alderman for the city of Lexington for several years and enjoyed seeing Lexington grow. He was Methodist by faith. Survivors include; wife of 71 years- LaRue Cook, two nephews- John W. Cook and David E. Robertson and niece- Jennifer Rogers; He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers- Billie Cook, J.D. Cook, and sister- Dimple Robertson.
