Jim Burt was born in Greenville, AL, and died in Huntsville, AL. He is survived by his wife, Jill Burt; children: Stephanie Carr (Steven), Michael Burt (Jane), Cathy Paramore (Jim), Christy Moore (Steve); ten grandchildren: Austin Paramore, Will Paramore, Bailey Carr, Garrett Carr, Mariana Moore, Davis Carr, Madeline Moore, Holden Fuhrer, Carson Moore, and Sophia Burt, sisters Cindi Roy and Pam Herring, and various cousins. He was predeceased by his parents Ruth and Bob Burt of Montgomery.
Jim was an Auburn Engineer, with a BS and MS in Aerospace Engineering. He worked for 35 years at the US Army Missile Command. He was fortunate to be retired for 21 years, and spent time with travel, tennis, reading, raising orchids, snorkeling and landscaping his yard.
A Celebration of Life gathering will be held Sunday, October 9, at Athletic Club Alabama on Leeman Ferry Rd in Huntsville from 12 noon to 2 PM. Guests will be encouraged to share their memories of Jim.
