Jewell Evelyn Smith, age 92, of Decatur, Alabama, passed away on Sunday, January 25, 2026, peacefully surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on October 21, 1933, in Giles County, Tennessee, to Cleo Inman and Lillian Riggins Inman.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Marion Wayne Smith; her daughter, Debbie Karon Moore; and her sister, Paulette Hickman
She is survived by her son, Brad Smith (Celeste); three grandchildren, Kristen Danforth (Greg), Hunter Smith (Ali), and Alex Smith; five great-grandchildren, Nathen Langley, Ross Smith, Naomi Hawkins, Silas Smith, and Stephen Smith; one brother, Larry Inman (Jean); and two sisters, Audrey Scott and Mable Delk (Joe) and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff at Summerford Rehab and Hospice of North Alabama of Cullman for their compassionate care.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 2, 2026, at 12:00 PM at Ardmore Chapel with Pastor Jarrett Scott, a great nephew, officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Gatlin Cemetery in Ardmore, Alabama.
