Jewell Elizabeth “Pennye” Johnson, 86, of Tuscumbia passed away Saturday, July 28, 2012. Visitation will be Monday from 1-2 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Paul Haley officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery, Sheffield.
Mrs. Johnson was a native of Franklin County and a member of the Tuscumbia Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Mike Johnson.
She is survived by her son, Dexter Johnson and wife, Judy; daughter, Susan Haley and husband, Paul; grandchildren, Angela Hulsey and husband, Brad, Sara Beth Haley and Laura Grace Haley; great-grandchildren, Logan, Owen and A.J. Hulsey; niece, Charlene Thompson; nephew, Alan Cheetham; great-niece, Jennifer Heldenbrand; and great-nephew, Craig Yarbro.
Pallbearers will be Brad Hulsey, Clint Blankenship, Terry Lenz, Donnie Berry, Tommy Thompson and John Blackwell.
The family expresses special thanks to Cathy, Jennifer and Judy for their loving care and attention during this time of need.
