Jewel May Rogers, 92, passed away Thursday, September 23, 2021 at her residence. She was born in Mississippi and worked in garment manufacturing. She operated a restaurant in Golden, MS for several years. She attended Free Holiness Church in Red Bay, AL.
Services will be Sunday, September 26, 2 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay, AL with Bro. Samuel Tharp and Bro. James Smith officiating. Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery, Golden, MS. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL will be in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by two sons – Geral Rogers (Patricia) and Murrell Rogers (Bonnie); sixteen grandchildren – Ricky Lindley, Cindy Puckett, Danny Rogers, Tammy Searcy, Rebecca Crumpton, Shelley Green, Angela Durward, Teresa Causey, Jason Rogers, Jessey Rogers, Julie Smith, Lisa Kindreck, Craig Rogers, Matthew Rogers, Tonia Jones and Rodney Rogers and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Orville Rogers, two sons, James Roy Rogers and Glenn Rogers, her parents, Jim and Mollie Austin Wingo, several brothers and sisters and grandchildren.
Visitation will be Saturday, September 25, 6-9 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL.
