Jewel Earlene Carter – Obituary

Jewel Earlene Carter passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2018, at the age of 90. Her visitation will be today from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel with Brother Billy Thorn and Brother J.D. Harrison officiating. Burial will be in Shaw Cemetery.

She was a native of Colbert County and a member of the Ford City Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Clay Carter; sons, Alvis, Ronald, and James Carter; parents, James Bentley and Allie Belle Tidwell; two brothers; and five sisters.

Jewel is survived by her daughter, Sarah Reeves; sisters, Evelene Posey, Marie Flanagan, and Orine Stutts; 11 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 1ten great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Buck and Steve Puckett, Gabe and Jacobi Carter, David Kilpatrick, and Tyler Raines. Honorary pallbearers will be Howard (Bubba) Letson, Wesley Raines, and Presley Willbanks.
