Jessie Willard Olive, Sr. – Obituary

Jessie Willard Olive, Sr., 82, of Florence, passed away Sunday, September 16, 2012 at his residence after an extended illness. He was retired from Reynolds Metals Plant, served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and then served with the 115th Signal Battalion of the Alabama Army National Guard.

Visitation will be Tuesday, September 18, 2012 from 6 – 9 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at Hendrix Chapel Church of Christ at 2 p.m. with Wayne Wood officiating. The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Greenview Memorial Park. Military funeral honors will be accorded at graveside.
Mr. Olive was preceded in death by his parents, James Wilburn and Rosa Lee McNeice Olive; brothers, James Grady and Benny Ray Olive.
He is survived by his wife, Norma Wade Olive of Florence; sons, Jessie Willard Olive, Jr. of Florence, Kevin Lee Olive of Decatur, Ala; daughters, Susan Hinton of Lutts, TN, Bobbie Tucker of Florence, Kathy Watkins of Florence; sister, Gladys Olive Bevis of Florence; grandchildren, Wesley, Bradley, and Kelli Tucker all of Florence, Will Hinton of Killen, Julie Randolph of Florence, Jeremy Olive of Chatanooga, TN, Eli Watkins of Florence, Ashley Williams of Clarksville, TN, Chandler Culbreth, MaKenna, and Mileigh Tucker, Paisley Peters, Palmer Tucker, Gavin Randolph all of Florence, Gracie Mae Hinton of Killen, Jaycie Goodlow of Huntsville, and Brantley Tucker of Florence.
Pallbearers will be grandchildren, Wesley Tucker, Bradley Tucker, Will Hinton, Jeremy Olive, Eli Watkins, and nephews, Donnie Bevis, Tim Bevis, a family friend, W.J. Hall.
Chandler Culbreth Tucker will serve as honorary pallbearer.
