Jessie Mae Wheeler Mrs. Jessie Mae Wheeler, age 83 of Vernon, AL, passed away Sunday, May 24, 2020, at her residence.

Mrs. Wheeler was born February 6, 1937, in Vernon, AL, to the late Coy Lee and Ila Mae Shelton.  She retired from Chromalox, and was married to the late James Lowell Wheeler, Sr.  Mrs. Wheeler loved her family and her church family and friends, and spending time in her flower garden.  She loved traveling with her husband, and was an extraordinary cook.  She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Vickie Reed, and two brothers, Wayne Shelton and Grady Shelton.

There will be a private family funeral service Wednesday, at 2:00 PM, in the chapel of Chandler Funeral Home, with Bro. Danny Thompson and Bro. Stuart Vail officiating.  Burial will follow at the Shiloh Cemetery in the Hightogy Community.

Survivors include one son, Jimmy Wheeler, of Vernon, AL; one daughter, Cheryl (Rodney) Sizemore, of Sulligent, AL; two grandsons, Brian K. Nichols and Zachary Reed; her son-in-law, Ray Reed, of Caledonia, MS; one brother, Daniel (Agnes) Shelton; two sisters, Betty Jack of Monroe, LA and Anna (Flynn) Tanner of Jackson, MS; her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Farrell and Faye Wheeler of Vernon, AL; the family dog Boots; three great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
