Jessie Lonzo “J.L.” Benford, age 89, Haleyville, AL. passed away Monday July 31, 2023 at his home. He was a member of Sunny Home Baptist Church.
Visitation will be Thursday August 3, 2023 10:00AM – 12:00NOON at Pinkard Funeral Home in Haleyville, AL. Funeral service at 12:00NOON in the chapel, with Bro. Eddie Everett and Bro. Larry Dover officiating. Burial to follow in Winston Memorial Cemetery.
He is survived by his daughter, Rhonda Salter (Jimmy); brothers, Auburn Benford and Jerry Benford (Betty) ; grandchildren, Kisha Crowden (Justin), Symone Thrasher (Dustin) and Jessie Salter; great grandson, Andrew Hendrix; a host of family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, A.A. and Annie Benford; wife, Martha Benford; son, Lonzo (Anita) Benford; great grandson, Adam Hendrix; brothers, Loyd, Bob, Warren, Lamar and Alvin Benford; sisters, Gladys Wilson, Geraldine Arthur, Eunice Roberts and Pauline Hester.
