Jessica Nicole Hannon Smith, age 41, of Decatur, passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2025 in Meridianville, Alabama. Funeral Services will be Thursday, February 27, 2025 at 3:00 PM at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM prior to the service at the chapel.
Ms. Smith was born in California on January 9, 1984 to Anne Christine Hannon. She became a salesperson by trade in the clothing industry. She also expressed herself as an artist, who loved drawing and crafts.
Ms. Smith was very out-going and never met a stranger. As a very fun-loving person, who loved to smile and laugh, Jessica was a lot of fun to be around. She was a very caring person and loved animals…especially taking care of dogs. She found joy in spending time at the beach, as well as dancing.
Ms. Smith was a loving daughter, sister and mother. Her greatest joy was her son, Mason. He was her entire world. Her kindness and love will endure in the hearts of all who knew her.
Ms. Smith was preceded in death by her grandparents, Eugene and Aileen Hannon.
Ms. Smith is survived by her son, Mason Smith; mother, Anne Netherton (Tony); brother, Derek Chain (Rachel); nephew, Kaden Chain; grandmother, Mary Ann Netherton; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and other family.
